Document intelligence (in banking)
AI-driven extraction and structuring of data from financial documents (bank statements, tax returns, balance sheets) into machine-readable formats. It replaces manual keying and OCR-only workflows.
Banking documents are notoriously inconsistent: hundreds of statement layouts per country, scanned PDFs, mixed languages, table-heavy balance sheets. Document intelligence combines OCR, layout analysis, and large language models to parse these reliably and output normalized, validated data. In credit workflows it feeds spreading tools, scoring engines, and KYB processes. Quality is measured by extraction accuracy, classification accuracy of line items, and the share of documents processed without human review (straight-through rate).
